About the Band

The Torrington Middle School Band has a long tradition of excellence in Litchfield County.

Both the 6th Grade Concert Band and 7/8th Grade Symphonic Band rehearse 2 - 3 times weekly during period 7.  

6th Grade meets Mondays and Thursdays.
7/8th Grade meets Tuesdays and Fridays.

Groups alternate on Wednesdays.  

In addition, students receive a 50 minute, pull-out lesson once a week in like-instrument groups no larger than 12 students.  

The ensembles perform 3 - 4 times per year, at numerous concerts and public performances throughout the city and state.
